I was sharing with a couple of friends about my newly set up blog while having dinner with them last Friday. It seems they felt it was a great idea to have a blog but I could do more with it! So, then came the "CHALLENGE"!!! It was to write a post each day...Wow! was the first thought on my mind then. Although I am currently a SAHM, but I still have meals to prepare and lil J who needs the attention too! But I thought it was such a great idea, I might just want to give it a try.
Besides the challenge, a friend (from advertising) gave me a brilliant idea about how I could make my blog more interesting! As we now stay abroad (though it's our last 3 months here), he thought it would be fantastic to share on my and our experiences raising J in a foreign country, away from our extended family & things so familiar to us. Also, as we are moving back home in a few months' time, it would be good to share about the transition for us and J.
I thought these ideas were really excellent because we only spent 1.5 months back home after J was born and he hardly stepped out of the house. From then on, he basically grew up where we live right now. And to go home to somewhere he has not really lived at, I foresee some major adjustments ahead of us. Furthermore, those times when we went home to visit, we were always staying with my parents and going back in a few months' time to our own home, would be a totally new experience for J.
For us too as parents....it will be a totally new experience! Reason very simple. When we first moved into our home, it was just the 2 of us. Now, it's THREE of us! A room previously set aside as our study/work room will now have to give way to become a play and learn room for J.
So, wish me luck on keeping up with the entries!
Hey dear, personally, I don't think there's a need to make the blog more interesting. The interesting part will comes through to the 'right' audience/reader, people who share the same interest or way of life like you. And the most important reason on why I started a blog is so that my lil' fella will get to read all about it one day. I'm sure that's your reason too, right?
ReplyDeleteHello! Yup, you are right. Some day, my lil boy will read this blog I started for him and see his growth through it too. But I'm also hoping this could be a good platform to share with other new parents like ourselves. Also a "reminder" to myself of the mistakes I made while raising J and shld I have a 2nd child, I wont do it again!! hahaha.... :)
